Dozens killed in traffic accident near Moscow

A shuttle train collided with a passenger bus in Vladimir region east of the Russian capital of Moscow, killing more than 10 people, local media quoted the regional interior ministry as saying on Friday.

The bus ran into the path of the train at a railway crossing when the red light was on, Sputnik reported, adding the Moscow railway authority issued a statement saying the vehicle had broken down.

"Tonight, at 3:39 a.m. (0039 GMT) a bus was passing a railway crossing near the Pokrov station when the engine stalled," the railway press office said.

According to the emergency ministry, the bus was travelling from Kazakhstan.

Russia's state news agency Tass said that 18 people, including three children died in the deadly accident.
