A suspected member of the Islamic State terrorist militia has been charged in Germany with alleged crimes against humanity, war crimes and acting as an accessory to genocide, the federal prosecutor general said on Wednesday, reported dpa.
The woman was arrested in October upon entering the country at Frankfurt airport, the top prosecutor said in Karlsruhe. An arrest warrant had been issued at the time by Hamburg's higher regional court.
The German national is alleged to have married several Islamic State fighters according to Islamic rites.
Among other things, one of her husbands had allegedly kept a Yezidi woman as a slave. The accused is said to have known that her husband regularly raped the victim.
"She herself abused the woman almost daily and especially following the rapes," the prosecutor general's statement said. "For example, she regularly punched and kicked the woman, yanked her hair or hit her head against the wall."
She also allegedly forced the prisoner to pray according to Islamic rites, which the prosecutor said was part of Islamic State's goal to annihilate the Yezidi faith.
