Russia announces temporary ceasefire in 2 besieged cities

Russian forces will observe temporary ceasefire and humanitarian corridors in two south-eastern Ukrainian cities, reported British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), quoting Russian defence ministry and the ceasefire was confirmed by Ukraine.

The head of the Donetsk region military administration, Pavlo Kirilenko on Saturday confirmed the the temporary ceasefire from 09:00 local time (07:00 GMT) from Ukrainian side and said that his administration is currently working on the details of the evacuation.

As was agreed by the Ukrainian side, the humanitarian corridors will allow the exit of civilians from Mariupol and Volnovakha in south Ukraine, reported Xinhua, quoting Russian Defence ministry, without disclosing how long the ceasefire will last.

During their second round of peace talks on Thursday, Russian and Ukrainian negotiators agreed on the establishment of humanitarian corridors for the exit of civilians and on a temporary cessation of hostilities along the evacuation routes.
