A special forces unit of the Dutch police arrested three men near the German border on suspicion of attempted murder, according to a police report published on Tuesday, reported dpa.
The three German men, aged 21, 26, and 36, allegedly severely physically abused a man in Hamburg in January 2021. They were arrested on Easter Monday in the city of Arnheim in the east of the country.
The two younger suspects allegedly beat up the man in Hamburg with clubs and a knuckleduster, while the 36-year-old suspect acted as a look-out, according to the police report.
The victim of the attack was able to escape and flee despite receiving severe head injuries, the police said.
The German public prosecution had issued a European arrest warrant for the three alleged criminals. They are now in jail, subject to extradition.
