Germany's armed forces plan to bring more war-wounded Ukrainians to Germany for treatment, reported dpa.

A Luftwaffe evacuation flight took off from Cologne to the airport of the Polish city of Rzeszow on Wednesday, dpa has learned.

The special A310 MedEvac aircraft is to be used to fly out children and adults in order to provide better medical care for the most serious injuries in Germany. A similar operation was carried out last week.

The A310 MedEvac is the air force's flying intensive care unit. Injured people are treated in the air by paramedics. In the past, wounded Ukrainian soldiers had also been brought to Germany.

There have also been civilian aid transports. The city of Rzeszow is about 90 kilometres from the Ukrainian border and is an important hub for assistance to Ukraine.
