Bulgaria seizes 105 kg of heroin at border with Turkey

Bulgarian customs inspectors have seized 104.94 kg of heroin at the country's Kapitan Andreevo checkpoint on its border with Turkey, the prosecutor's office of the country said on Wednesday, reported Xinhua.
The drugs, split into 209 packets, were found on Monday hidden in secret compartments in a Volkswagen car entering from Turkey, the office said in a statement.
The inspectors also found one packet of hashish weighing 90 grams.
Authorities estimated the total value of the drugs at over 4.89 million U.S. dollars.
The driver of the car, a 38-year-old man with French and Turkish citizenships, was arrested at the scene.
Investigation into the case is underway.
