German police identify youngsters who attacked trans woman in Bremen

German police have identified four young people aged between 12 and 13 who were involved in a violent attack on a trans woman in a tram in Bremen, they said in a statement, reported dpa.

The woman was insulted and attacked by a group of around 15 children between the ages of 12 and 14 on September 3.

The woman sustained serious injuries to her face. The youngsters only stopped and fled when other passengers intervened, the police statement said.

The officers used camera recordings from the tram and their own database to identify the young people.

They are treating the attack as a hate crime.
