Climate activists once again defaced a monument in Berlin dedicated to the German constitution by daubing a sticky liquid onto its glass panels on Sunday, reported dpa.
The activists from the Last Generation group put up a poster reading: "This government is destroying our basis for life." A dpa reporter was on hand to observe the protest near the parliamentary buildings.
Police said that three men and three women had participated in the stunt. Last Generation said it had place "blood-red hand prints" on the constitutional monument and covered the quotes from the constitution with placards.
Last Generation takes the view that the government is in breach of the constitution by not acting sufficiently against climate change.
The "Grundgesetz 49" (Basic Law 1949) by Israeli artist Dani Karavan comprises glass panel engraved with quotations from the constitution, which is known in Germany as the Basic Law and which was adopted after World War II in 1949.
A similar Last Generation stunt at the beginning of March provoked controversy, with politicians across the board condemning it.
