German climate activists in renewed roadblocks in Berlin

Climate activists of Germany's Last Generation group blocked traffic at 14 points in Berlin on Thursday, targeting the central station and major city freeways among other locations, reported dpa.

A police spokeswoman said officers had been deployed and were attempting to clear the roadblocks.

Last Generation said it was deliberately targeting holiday traffic out of the city on Ascension Thursday, a national public holiday.

The group has repeatedly blocked traffic in Berlin and other centres in its campaign to press for stronger action to counter global warming.
