Hungary's cooperation with Russia will continue in sectors not subject to European Union (EU) sanctions, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on Wednesday, reported Xinhua.
Speaking after discussions with Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko in Budapest, Szijjarto emphasized that the collaboration is essential in order to ensure energy security for Hungary.
Szijjarto underlined the reliability of Russia as a partner in fossil fuel supply; Russia has already delivered 2.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Hungary this year, he said.
There have also been uninterrupted crude oil deliveries of 2.2 billion cubic meters through the Druzhba pipeline.
Cooperation with Russia adheres to international laws and regulations, Szijjarto underlined, noting that Hungary values the benefits of the collaboration in sectors untouched by EU sanctions.
