German railway operator Deutsche Bahn and the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) are planning to announce on Tuesday the expansion of service between the two countries, reported dpa.
The two national railways are to outline a new long-distance service set to begin in December.
The broadening of service is expected to include short and medium extensions of the night-train service, both companies said. Further details were not disclosed.
Night-train services in Germany are mainly operated by ÖBB, which include destinations in Austria, Switzerland and Italy departing from several major German cities.
Other night-train destinations also include services to the Netherlands or Eastern European countries such as Croatia, Slovenia and Hungary.
