The world's largest aircraft manufacturer, Airbus, plans to further ramp up its production in 2024, reported dpa.
Airbus will deliver around 800 commercial aircraft to customers in 2024, around 65 more than in the previous year, the company announced on Thursday while presenting its annual financial results in the French city of Toulouse.
Operating profits for Airbus, adjusted for special items, or adjusted EBIT, is expected to increase to between €6.5 billion and €7 billion ($7 billion-$7.5 billion).
In the past year, Airbus achieved an adjusted operating profit of €5.8 billion, a 4% increase over the previous year, but slightly less than targeted by the company's executive board.
However, profits fell by 11% to €3.8 billion due to high special charges in the defence and aerospace division.
In view of the company's full coffers, however, Airbus intends to distribute significantly more money to shareholders. In addition to a stable regular dividend of €1.80 per share, there is to be a special extra dividend of €1 per share.
