Hungary's President Tamas Sulyok on Tuesday signed a bill ratifying Sweden's accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), reported Xinhua.
"President of the Republic Tamas Sulyok, today signed the decision made by the National Assembly on Feb. 26, 2024, regarding Sweden's accession to NATO," said the presidential office.
The president's signature was needed to put into force a bill that was passed in Hungary's parliament.
Hungary is the last of the 31 NATO member countries that approved Sweden's bid to join the military alliance. Sweden will officially become the 32nd member of the alliance at its next summit in Washington D.C. in July.
