Denmark will close its embassy in Iraq, the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Tuesday, reported Xinhua.

The Baghdad embassy was opened in 2020 to support the Danish involvement in the NATO Mission Iraq (NMI) and has now completed its key task following the end of the Danish command over NMI two years ago and the departure of most Danish military personnel earlier this year, the ministry said in a press release.

It said the embassy will be closed as of May 31.
