Swedish firm EcoDataCenter on Wednesday announced a partnership with U.S. cloud company CoreWeave to build an advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) center in Sweden, aiming to significantly enhance Europe's computing capabilities, reported Xinhua.

According to a press release from the Swedish data center company, the AI center will be established in the city of Falun in central Sweden. It will be Europe's first large-scale NVIDIA Blackwell cluster.

Launched in the spring of 2024, the Blackwell AI platform should improve AI training performance and be 25 times more energy efficient than its predecessor. This enhanced efficiency should facilitate the development of new and more effective AI applications for companies and organizations, EcoDataCenter noted.

In Falun, the company will begin to install a cluster of thousands of Blackwell GPUs in early 2025.

EcoDataCenter CEO Peter Michelson said the project will lay the foundation for both Swedish and European AI infrastructure.
