One person was killed and 23 others wounded in a Russian missile strike early Tuesday on the city of Mykolaiv in southern Ukraine, reported Xinhua, quoting local authorities.

The S-300 missiles hit the city around 2:30 a.m. local time Tuesday (2330 GMT Monday), damaging an infrastructure facility and a restaurant, said Vitaliy Kim, governor of the namesake region.

Shopping pavilions, residential buildings and vehicles were also damaged in the attack.

The missile strikes triggered fires across the city.
