London rail station closed over "security alert": report

London Victoria railway station has been evacuated following reports of a "security alert" and rush hour commuters are told to avoid the area, newspaper Daily Mail reported on Friday.

British Transport Police said in a Tweet: "Officers are responding to a security alert at Victoria station. Officers are on the scene. More information when we get it."

A spokesman for Transport For London tweeted: "Victoria Rail station has closed due to a security alert."
