The Spanish Civil Guard on Saturday confirmed that they have arrested 66 people from four different gangs in an anti-drugs operation on the island of Mallorca.

The three-month operation, Ludar, saw the Civil Guard carry out 72 searches on the island, with 58 in the capital of Palma.

Those searches led to the discovery of 13 marijuana plantations, two kilos of cocaine hidden in a basement, as well as other illegal substances, firearms and around 150,000 euros in cash, along with watches and jewelry.

The Civil Guards explained that as well as drug dealing, the four gangs also participated in robberies using real and fake weapons.

The investigation has also seen the dismantling of 30 different places where drugs were sold on the popular holiday island.
