5 killed in northern Spain bus crash

At least five people were killed and 15 others injured in a bus crash in the town of Aviles, northern Spanish Community of Asturias on Monday, emergency services informed.
Five of the injured, including the bus driver, are reported to be in a "serious" condition by regional health authorities.
The accident happened when a bus, operated by the company Alsa, was involved in a head-on collision with a viaduct at 13:40 local time. The accident was on the AI-81 road as the bus headed to its destination in the city of Gijon 28 kilometers away.
A spokesperson for the Civil Guard reported "a bus came off the road and collided with a pillar of a section of the new motorway which is currently being built".
The cause of the accident is so far unknown.
The company Alsa meanwhile has confirmed it is holding a "crisis meeting" to analyze all of the information currently available.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez confirmed he has been in touch with the leader of Asturias in a tweet in which he gives "solidarity to the victims and their families" and wishes a "rapid recovery to the injured".
