147 Passengers had been held on a plane coming from Algeria after it landed in Perpignan, southern France, on Wednesday over a suspicious case of cholera, according to local report.

"It is likely a child would have carrying cholera. He as well as his parents were deeply examined. They were taken to the hospital for other medical exams," BFMTV news channel cited Denis Leluc, president of Sud de France-Perpignan airport, as saying.

"We can not confirm if it's a cholera case or not," he said.

The plane had travelled from Oran in Algeria, where a cholera outbreak has left three dead and over 70 people contaminated.
