British Prime Minister Theresa May is to chair a special cabinet meeting on Wednesday to discuss a draft Brexit withdrawal agreement text which is agreed by UK and the European Union (EU).

BBC quoted an unnamed source on Tuesday as saying that the Brexit agreement text has been agreed "at a technical level" by officials from both sides after intensive talks this week.

"The cabinet will meet at 2 p.m. tomorrow (Wednesday) to consider the draft agreement the negotiating teams have reached in Brussels, and to decide on next steps," a government source told Xinhua.

"Cabinet ministers have been invited to read documentation ahead of that meeting," the source said.

If all goes well for May, her cabinet is expected to sign off on the deal on Wednesday.

The ball then will be in the court of EU, whose leaders will be expected to give it the green light at a summit later this month.

The future of the Irish border has been the last major outstanding issue to be settled in the negotiations.

The agreement, even if agreed by the British government and the EU, has to be voted by the parliaments of both sides.

UK is scheduled to leave EU on March 29.
