7.4-magnitude quake hits Commander Islands, Russia

An earthquake measuring 7.4 on the Richter scale jolted the Commander Islands off the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia's Far East at 17:01:54 GMT on Thursday, said the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The epicenter, with a depth of 20 km, was determined to be at 54.95 degrees north latitude and 164.79 degrees east longitude, according to the CENC.
The Commander Islands are a group of volcanic islands, including Bering Island, Medny Island and fifteen smaller others.
