About 2 million Ukrainians traveled without a visa to the European Union (EU) since the introduction of the visa-free mechanism, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said on Thursday.
"The visa-free regime does work... And we continue opening the world to Ukrainians, and opening Ukraine to the world," Poroshenko wrote on Facebook.
Currently, Ukraine has the visa-free regime with some 100 countries around the globe, Poroshenko said.
The visa-free mechanism with the EU that was introduced in June 2017 allows Ukrainian biometric passport holders to stay in the EU for 90 days without a visa in any 180-day period.
The mechanism applies to all EU countries, except Ireland and the UK. Ukrainians can also enter the non-EU countries -- Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland without a visa.
