Malmi healthcare centre to be Helsinki’s 2nd coronavirus care hub

The City of Helsinki’s coronavirus coordination committee in a meeting on Tuesday decided to take several new measures that will affect municipal health services and other activities.
The Malmi healthcare centre in northeast Helsinki will be repurposed into the city’s second coronavirus healthcare hub starting on Thursday, said the City of Helsinki in a press release. It will join the Laakso healthcare centre, which was the first clinic in the capital to be devoted specifically to treat coronavirus infection.
Local residents normally served by the Malmi and Laakso locations will be redirected to other municipal healthcare centres accordingly.
The Malmi healthcare centre will be closed on March 18 Wednesday to the in order to make the necessary alterations, the release added.
