Coronavirus death toll raises to 149 in Finland

The coronavirus death toll in Finland has increased to 149 as eight more people died in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS) in the last 24 hours, said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) on Wednesday.
Till Wednesdays a total of 118 patients had died in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), 21 in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS), six in the Turku Hospital District (TYKS), two in the Tampere-Pirkanmaa (TAYS) Hospital District, and two in the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa (OYS) Hospital District, said the THL.
The identities of the deceased, however, could not be known as the THL did not divulge any details in this regard.
Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infection cases in the country has increased to 4129 as 115 more cases had been diagnosed in the last 24 hours till Wednesday afternoon.
Presently, 199 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals, including 63 in intensive care units.
Currently, laboratories are testing about 5,000 samples a day and their testing capacity is being increased gradually.
