Coronavirus death toll in Finland ups to 190

The coronavirus death toll in Finland has raised to 190 as four more people- two in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS) and two in the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa Hospital District (OYS)- died in the last 24 hours, said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) on Sunday.

Till Sunday, a total of 155 people had died in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), 21 in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS), six in the Turku Hospital District (TYKS), five in the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa Hospital District (OYS) and three in the Tampere-Pirkanmaa (TAYS) Hospital District, said the THL.

The identities of the deceased, however, could not be known as the THL did not divulge any details in this regard.

Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infection cases in the country has increased to 4576 as 101 more cases had been diagnosed in the last 24 hours till Sunday afternoon.

So far more than 2500 patients got recovery from the disease.

Presently, 189 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals, including 62 in intensive care units.

Currently, laboratories are testing about 5,000 samples a day and their testing capacity is being increased gradually.
