Coronavirus death toll in Finland rises to 193

The coronavirus death toll in Finland has raised to 193 as three more people- two in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS) and one in the Turku Hospital District (TYKS)- died in the last 24 hours, said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) on Monday.

Till Monday, a total of 157 people had died in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), 21 in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS), seven in the Turku Hospital District (TYKS), five in the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa Hospital District (OYS) and three in the Tampere-Pirkanmaa (TAYS) Hospital District, said the THL.

The identities of the deceased, however, could not be known as the THL did not divulge any details in this regard.

Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infection cases in the country has increased to 4695 as 119 more cases had been diagnosed in the last 24 hours till Monday afternoon.

So far more than 2500 patients got recovery from the disease.

Presently, 187 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals, including 56 in intensive care units.

Currently, laboratories are testing about 5,000 samples a day and their testing capacity is being increased gradually.
