Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infection cases in the country has increased to 4906, as 166 more cases had been diagnosed in the 24 hours until Wednesday afternoon.
The number of coronavirus infections in Finland is likely to be much higher than is reported, as not all those with mild symptoms have been tested thus far and there is no data available on asymptomatic infections.
So far more than 2,800 patients have recovered from the disease.
Presently, 208 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals, including 51 in intensive care units.
Currently, laboratories are testing about 5,500 samples a day and their testing capacity is being increased gradually.
In relation to Finland’s total population (5,543,233), the prevalence of cases is 89 cases per 100,000 people, the THL report pointed out.
