The coronavirus death toll in Finland has increased to 246 as six more people died in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS) in the last 24 hours, said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) on Tuesday.
Till Tuesday, a total of 202 people died in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), 22 in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS), 10 in the Turku Hospital District (TYKS), nine in the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa Hospital District (OYS), and three in the Tampere-Pirkanmaa (TAYS) Hospital District.

Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infection cases in the country has increased to 5412, as 85 more cases had been diagnosed in the 24 hours until Tuesday afternoon.
The number of coronavirus infections in Finland is likely to be much higher than is reported, as not all those with mild symptoms have been tested thus far and there is no data available on asymptomatic infections.
So far more than 3,500 patients have recovered from the disease, said THL.
Presently, 195 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals, including 48 in intensive care units.
Currently, laboratories are testing about 5,500 samples a day and their testing capacity is being increased gradually.
In relation to Finland’s total population (5,543,233), the prevalence of cases is 98 cases per 100,000 people, the THL report pointed out.
