The coronavirus death toll in Finland has increased to 271 as four more patients died in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) on Monday.
Till Monday, a total of 221 people died in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), 23 in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS), 13 in the Turku Hospital District (TYKS), 11 in the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa Hospital District (OYS), and three in the Tampere-Pirkanmaa (TAYS) Hospital District.

Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infection cases in the country has increased to 5984, as 22 more cases had been diagnosed in the 24 hours until Monday afternoon.
The number of coronavirus infections in Finland is likely to be much higher than is reported, as not all those with mild symptoms have been tested thus far and there is no data available on asymptomatic infections.
So far more than 4000 patients have recovered from the disease, said THL.
Presently, 161 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals, including 44 in intensive care units.
Currently, laboratories are testing about 8000 samples a day and their testing capacity is being increased gradually.
In relation to Finland’s total population (5,543,233), the prevalence of cases is 108 cases per 100,000 people, the THL report pointed out.
