Family Affairs and Social Services Minister Krista Kiuru on Thursday said the government has adopted a three-phase action plan to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the country.
Speaking at a press briefing, she also emphasised taking time-befitting and accurate targeted measures to stop the spread of the virus.
“It should be noted that the number of infections has increased after relaxation of restrictions, although we are still at a baseline level. We have cross-border cases, but local infections are also increasing,” said the minister, adding that the situation varies across the country.
Kiuru said the planned measures would impact on economic and societal conditions that need to be identified.
She said the government finalised the three-phase action plan to ensure introduction of well-planned and time-befitting measures in this autumn. The action plan is divided into measures to address a baseline or first phase, followed by an acceleration phase and finally a spreading phase.
Kiuru, however, said that Finland is currently in the baseline phase, as the number of infections is low and the number of home-grown cases is also small.
