1 more death, 490 new coronavirus infections diagnosed in 3 days

The number of coronavirus deaths in Finland increased to 359, as one more patient died in the Tampere-Pirkanmaa (TAYS) Hospital District in the last three days since Friday, said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) on Monday.
Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country has increased to 16,400, as 490 more cases were diagnosed in the three days.
Out of the 490 new infections, 203 were diagnosed on Saturday, 178 on Sunday and 109 on Monday, said the THL.
So far a total of 287 people have died in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), 25 in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS), 22 in the Turku Hospital District (TYKS), 14 in the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa Hospital District (OYS), and 11 in the Tampere-Pirkanmaa (TAYS) Hospital District.
Until Monday, 11,300 or more than 70% coronavirus-infected patients in Finland had recovered.
A total of 70 coronavirus patients, including 13 in intensive care units (ICUs), are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals.
According to the THL report, in relation to Finland’s total population (5,543,233), the prevalence of COVID-19 cases is 296 per 100,000 people.
Currently, laboratories in the country have the testing capacity of about 20,000 samples a day.
