2 more deaths, 458 new coronavirus infections diagnosed in 2 days

The number of coronavirus deaths in Finland increased to 365, as two more patients died in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS) in the last two days since Monday afternoon, said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country has increased to 18,345 as 458 more cases were diagnosed in the last 48 hours.
Out of the new cases, 220 infections were diagnosed on Tuesday and 238 infections were diagnosed on Wednesday.
So far a total of 291 people have died in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), 26 in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS), 22 in the Turku Hospital District (TYKS), 14 in the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa Hospital District (OYS), and 12 in the Tampere-Pirkanmaa (TAYS) Hospital District.
Until Wednesday, 14 000 or more than 75% coronavirus-infected patients in Finland had recovered.
A total of 76 coronavirus patients, including 16 in intensive care units (ICUs), are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals.
According to the THL report, in relation to Finland’s total population (5,543,233), the prevalence of COVID-19 cases is 331 per 100,000 people.
Currently, laboratories in the country have the testing capacity of about 20,000 samples a day.
