7 more deaths, 876 new coronavirus infections diagnosed in 2 days

The coronavirus death toll in Finland increased to 415 as seven more patients died at different hospitals in the country in the last two days since Wednesday afternoon, said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) on Friday.
Out of the deaths, three were reported in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), two in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS), one in the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa Hospital District (OYS) and one in the Tampere-Pirkanmaa (TAYS) Hospital District.
Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country has increased to 26,758 as 876 more cases were diagnosed in the last two days.
Out of the new cases, 540 infections were diagnosed on Thursday and 336 on Friday, said the THL.
So far a total of 316 people have died in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), 35 in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS), 24 in the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa Hospital District (OYS), 22 in the Turku Hospital District (TYKS) and 18 in the Tampere-Pirkanmaa (TAYS) Hospital District.
Until Friday, 18,100 or more than 70% coronavirus-infected patients in Finland had recovered.
A total of 141 coronavirus patients, including 21 in intensive care units (ICUs), are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals.
According to the THL report, in relation to Finland’s total population (5,543,233), the prevalence of COVID-19 cases is 483 per 100,000 people.
Currently, laboratories in the country have the testing capacity of about 26,000 samples a day.
