9 more deaths, 1123 new coronavirus infections diagnosed in 3 days

The coronavirus death toll in Finland increased to 424 as nine more patients died at different hospitals in the country in the last three days since Friday afternoon, said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) on Monday.
Out of the deaths, five were reported in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), two in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS), one in the Turku Hospital District (TYKS), and one in the Tampere-Pirkanmaa (TAYS) Hospital District.
Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country has increased to 27,881 as 1,123 more cases were diagnosed in the three days.
Out of the new cases, 460 infections were diagnosed on Saturday, 413 on Sunday, and 250 on Friday, said the THL.
So far a total of 321 people have died in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), 37 in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS), 24 in the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa Hospital District (OYS), 23 in the Turku Hospital District (TYKS), and 19 in the Tampere-Pirkanmaa (TAYS) Hospital District.
Until Monday, 18,100 or more than 70% coronavirus-infected patients in Finland had recovered.
A total of 223 coronavirus patients, including 30 in intensive care units (ICUs), are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals.
According to the THL report, in relation to Finland’s total population (5,543,233), the prevalence of COVID-19 cases is 503 per 100,000 people.
Currently, laboratories in the country have the testing capacity of about 26,000 samples a day.
