8 more deaths, 490 new coronavirus infections diagnosed in 24 hours

The coronavirus death toll in Finland increased to 433 as eight more patients died at different hospitals in the country in the last 24 hours, said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) on Wednesday.
Out of the deaths, four were reported in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), three in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS) and one in the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa Hospital District (OYS).
Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country has increased to 28,732 as 490 more cases were diagnosed in the last 24 hours.
So far a total of 325 people have died in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), 40 in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS), 25 in the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa Hospital District (OYS), 23 in the Turku Hospital District (TYKS), and 20 in the Tampere-Pirkanmaa (TAYS) Hospital District.
Until Wednesday, 20,000 or more than 70% coronavirus-infected patients in Finland had recovered.
A total of 233 coronavirus patients, including 27 in intensive care units (ICUs), are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals.
According to the THL report, in relation to Finland’s total population (5,543,233), the prevalence of COVID-19 cases is 518 per 100,000 people.
Currently, laboratories in the country have the testing capacity of about 26,000 samples a day.
