12 more deaths,358 new coronavirus infections diagnosed in 24 hours

The coronavirus death toll in Finland increased to 484 as 12 more patients died at different hospitals in the country in the last 24 hours, said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) on Thursday.

Out of the deaths, six were reported in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), four in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS) and two in the Turku Hospital District (TYKS).

Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country has increased to 32,228 as 358 more cases were diagnosed in the last 24 hours.

So far a total of 351 people have died in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), 52 in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS), 31 in the Turku Hospital District (TYKS), 26 in the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa Hospital District (OYS), and 24 in the Tampere-Pirkanmaa (TAYS) Hospital District.

Until Thursday, 22, 500 or more than 70% coronavirus-infected patients in Finland had recovered.

A total of 264 coronavirus patients, including 27 in intensive care units (ICUs), are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals.

According to the THL report, in relation to Finland’s total population (5,543,233), the prevalence of COVID-19 cases is 581 per 100,000 people.

Currently, laboratories in the country have the testing capacity of about 26,000 samples a day.
