13 more deaths,367 new coronavirus infections diagnosed in 24 hours

The coronavirus death toll in Finland increased to 524 as 13 more patients died at different hospitals in the country in the last 24 hours, said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) on Wednesday.

Out of the deaths, nine were reported in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), two in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS) and one in Turku Hospital District (TYKS) and Tampere-Pirkanmaa (TAYS) Hospital District each.

Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country has increased to 34, 084 as 367 more cases were diagnosed in the last 24 hours.

So far a total of 368 people have died in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), 62 in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS), 35 in the Turku Hospital District (TYKS), 32 in the Tampere-Pirkanmaa (TAYS) Hospital District and 27 in the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa Hospital District (OYS).

Until Wednesday, 26, 000 or more than 75% coronavirus-infected patients in Finland had recovered.

A total of 258 coronavirus patients, including 26 in intensive care units (ICUs), are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals.

According to the THL report, in relation to Finland’s total population (5,543,233), the prevalence of COVID-19 cases is 615 per 100,000 people.

Currently, laboratories in the country have the testing capacity of about 26,000 samples a day.
