6 more deaths,1080 new coronavirus infections diagnosed in 3 days

The coronavirus death toll in Finland rose to 677, as six more patients died at different hospitals in the country in the last three days since Friday afternoon, said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) on Monday.

Out of the deaths, five were reported in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS) and one was reported in Turku Hospital District (TYKS).

Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country has increased to 45, 482 as 1080 new cases were diagnosed in the last three days.

Out of the infections, 469 were reported on Saturday, 367 on Sunday and 244 on Monday, said the THL.

So far 460 people have died in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), 78 in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS), 54 in the Turku Hospital District (TYKS), 53 in the Tampere-Pirkanmaa (TAYS) Hospital District and 32 in the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa Hospital District (OYS).

A total of 135 coronavirus patients, including 17 in intensive care units (ICUs), are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals.

According to the THL report, in relation to Finland’s total population (5,543,233), the prevalence of COVID-19 cases is 820 per 100,000 people.

Currently, laboratories in the country have the testing capacity of about 26,000 samples a day.
