3 more deaths, 444 new coronavirus infections diagnosed in 24 hours

The coronavirus death toll in Finland rose to 688, as three more patients died at different hospitals in the country in the last 24 hours, said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) on Thursday.
Out of the deaths, two were reported in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS) while one was reported in Turku Hospital District (TYKS).
Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country has increased to 46, 493 as 444 new cases were diagnosed in the last 24 hours.
So far 466 people have died in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), 78 in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS), 59 in the Turku Hospital District (TYKS), 53 in the Tampere-Pirkanmaa (TAYS) Hospital District and 32 in the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa Hospital District (OYS).
A total of 128 coronavirus patients, including 23 in intensive care units (ICUs), are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals.
According to the THL report, in relation to Finland’s total population (5,543,233), the prevalence of COVID-19 cases is 839 per 100,000 people.
Currently, laboratories in the country have the testing capacity of about 26,000 samples a day.
