2 more deaths, 720 new coronavirus infections diagnosed in 24 hours

The coronavirus death toll in Finland increased to 742 as two more patients died in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS) in the last 24 hours, said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) on Friday.
Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country has increased to 56, 407 as 720 new cases were diagnosed in the last 24 hours.
So far, 491 people have died in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), 79 in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS), 77 in the Turku Hospital District (TYKS), 62 in the Tampere-Pirkanmaa (TAYS) Hospital District and 33 in the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa Hospital District (OYS).
A total of 210 coronavirus patients, including 38 in intensive care units (ICUs), are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals.
According to the THL report, in relation to Finland’s total population (5,537,046), the prevalence of COVID-19 cases is 1019 per 100,000 people.
Currently, laboratories in the country have the testing capacity of about 30,000 samples a day.
