14 more deaths, 2019 new coronavirus cases diagnosed in 3 days

The coronavirus death toll in Finland increased to 800 as 14 more patients died at different hospitals in the country in the three days since Friday afternoon, said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) on Monday.
Out of the deaths, six were reported in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), four in the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa Hospital District (OYS) while two were reported in Turku Hospital District (TYKS) and the Tampere-Pirkanmaa Hospital District (TAYS) each.
Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country has increased to 67,334 as 2019 new cases were diagnosed in the last three days.
Out of the new cases, 691 infections were diagnosed on Saturday, 863 on Sunday, and 465 on Monday, said the THL.
The total number of the coronavirus variants increased to 1,736 in the country. Out of the cases 1,633 were UK variants, 102 South African variants, and one was Brazilian variant.
So far, 519 people have died in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), 84 in the Turku Hospital District (TYKS), 79 in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS), 67 in the Tampere-Pirkanmaa Hospital District (TAYS) and 51 in the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa Hospital District (OYS).
A total of 274 coronavirus patients, including 50 in intensive care units (ICUs), are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals.
According to the THL report, in relation to Finland’s total population (5,537,046), the prevalence of COVID-19 cases is 1216 per 100,000 people.
Currently, laboratories in the country have the testing capacity of about 30,000 samples a day.
