4 more deaths, 420 new coronavirus infections diagnosed in 24 hours

The coronavirus death toll in Finland increased to 826 as four more patients died in different hospitals in the last 24 hours, said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) on Tuesday.
Of the deaths, three were reported in the Turku Hospital District (TYKS) while the rest was reported in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS).
Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country has increased to 76,845 as 420 new cases were diagnosed in that time.
The number of coronavirus variants in the country remained at 2,584. Of them, 2,403 were UK variants, 180 South African variants, and one was Brazilian variant.
So far, 532 people have died in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), 89 in the Turku Hospital District (TYKS), 79 in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS), 72 in the Tampere-Pirkanmaa Hospital District (TAYS), and 54 in the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa Hospital District (OYS).
A total of 304 coronavirus patients, including 50 in intensive care units (ICUs), are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals.
According to the THL report, in relation to Finland’s total population (5,537,046), the prevalence of COVID-19 cases is 1,388 per 100,000 people.
Currently, laboratories in the country have the testing capacity of about 30,000 samples a day.
