1 more death, 267 new coronavirus infections diagnosed in 24 hours

The country’s coronavirus death toll has reached 903, as one more patient died in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS) in the last 24 hours, said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) on Friday.
Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country has increased to 85,344, as 267 new cases were diagnosed in that time.
The number of coronavirus variants in the country increased to 4,716. Of them, 4,022 are UK variants, 693 South African variants, and one was Brazilian variant.
So far, 587 people have died in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), 98 in the Turku Hospital District (TYKS), 82 in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS), 80 in the Tampere-Pirkanmaa Hospital District (TAYS), and 56 in the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa Hospital District (OYS).
A total of 132 coronavirus patients, including 31 in intensive care units (ICUs), are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals in the country.
According to the THL report, in relation to Finland’s total population (5,537,046), the prevalence of COVID-19 cases is 1,541 per 100,000 people.
Currently, laboratories in the country have the testing capacity of about 30,000 samples a day.
