Number of coronavirus deaths reduces by 4 as THL corrects list

The number of the coronavirus deaths in the country reduced by four to 929 as the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) made corrections to the list again on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country has increased to 90, 398 as 149 new cases were diagnosed in the last 24 hours.
According to the corrected death figures, so far, 597 ( which was 603) people have died in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS), 101 in the Turku Hospital District (TYKS), 87 (which was 85) in the Tampere-Pirkanmaa Hospital District (TAYS), 83 in the Pohjois-Savo Hospital District (KYS), and 61 in the Pohjois-Pohjanmaa Hospital District (OYS).
Earlier, the THL also made corrections to the death figures on several occasions.
The number of coronavirus variants in the country remained at 6, 424. Of them, 5,265 are UK variants, 1132 South African variants, 25 Indian variants and two Brazilian variants.
A total of 137 coronavirus patients, including 25 in intensive care units (ICUs), are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals in the country.
According to the THL report, in relation to Finland’s total population (5,537,046), the prevalence of COVID-19 cases is 1,633 per 100,000 people.
Currently, laboratories in the country have the testing capacity of about 30,000 samples a day.
