3 more deaths,1307 new coronavirus infections diagnosed in 1 week

The coronavirus death toll in the country has reached 976 as three more patients died in the last one week since Thursday, 1 July, said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) on Wednesday afternoon.
Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country has increased to 97, 049 as 1307 new cases were diagnosed in the last seven days.
Out of the new cases, 222 infections were diagnosed on Thursday, 216 on Friday, 192 on Saturday, 91 on Sunday, 106 on Monday, 222 on Tuesday and 258 on Wednesday.
The number of coronavirus variants in the country increased to 9579. Of them, 7,715 are Alfa variants, 1,424 Beta variants, five Gamma variants and 435 Delta variants.
A total of 44 coronavirus patients, including seven in intensive care units (ICUs), are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals in the country.
According to the THL report, in relation to Finland’s total population (5,537,046), the prevalence of COVID-19 cases is 1,753 per 100,000 people.
Currently, laboratories in the country have the testing capacity of about 30,000 samples a day.
