2 new deaths, 4735 coronavirus infections diagnosed in 1 week

The coronavirus death toll in the country increased to 984 as two new deaths were reported in the country in the last one week since Thursday, 29 July, said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) on Wednesday afternoon.
Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country has increased to 1,09 230 as 4735 new cases were diagnosed in the last seven days.
Out of the new cases, 765 infections were diagnosed on Thursday, 748 on Friday, 794 on Saturday, 519 on Sunday, 345 on Monday, 692 on Tuesday and 872 on Wednesday.
The number of coronavirus variants in the country increased to 11, 588. Of them, 7,947 are Alfa variants, 1,444 Beta variants, seven Gamma variants and 2190 Delta variants.
A total of 95 coronavirus patients, including 15 in intensive care units (ICUs), are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals in the country.
According to the THL report, in relation to Finland’s total population (5,537,046), the prevalence of COVID-19 cases is 1972 per 100,000 people.
Currently, laboratories in the country have the testing capacity of about 30,000 samples a day.
