12 new deaths, 3141 coronavirus infections diagnosed in 1 week

The coronavirus death toll in the country increased to 1051 as 12 new deaths were reported in the country in the last one week since Thursday, 9 September, said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) on Wednesday afternoon.
Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country has increased to 1, 34, 827 as 3141 new cases were diagnosed in the last seven days.
Out of the new cases, 486 infections were diagnosed on Thursday, 490 on Friday, none on Saturday, 976 on Sunday, 213 on Monday, 454 on Tuesday and 522 on Wednesday.
The THL, however, did not give any statistics about the number of coronavirus variants such as Alfa, Beta, Gamma and Delta in the last week.
A total of 95 coronavirus patients, including 29 in intensive care units (ICUs), are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals in the country.
According to the THL report, in relation to Finland’s total population (5,537,046), the prevalence of COVID-19 cases is 2435 per 100,000 people.
Currently, laboratories in the country have the testing capacity of about 30,000 samples a day.
