Coronavirus death toll rises to 1724 in Finland with 24 new deaths

The coronavirus death toll in the country has reached 1,724 as 24 more patients died in the last one day, said the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) on Friday.

Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infections in the country has increased to 371,135 as 9582 new cases were diagnosed in the last 24 hours.

A total of 670 coronavirus patients, including 61 in intensive care units (ICUs), are now undergoing treatment at different hospitals in the country on Friday.

The coronavirus deaths and infections are increasing alarmingly in the country during the recent period and About 53,600 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Finland between 3 and 9 January, compared to more than 42,100 new cases in the previous week.

A total of 140 people died of coronavirus in the last two weeks from 29 December to 12 January.
