The ear, nose, and throat diseases emergency clinic, urgent care during office hours, ward, and tumour outpatient clinic are moving from the Surgical Hospital to the Meilahti hospital campus.
Access to Meilahti emergency department will be through the Paciuksenkatu entrance to Bridge Hospital.
In future, patients under the age of 16 in need of urgent care will be treated at the emergency department of New Children's Hospital from February 4.
An emergency referral from a doctor is required for treatment at the unit.
If the patient does not have a referral or a previous treatment relationship with ear, nose, and throat diseases, the authority recommended that the patients should call to the Medical Helpline at 116117. In an emergency people can always call at 112.
The Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases Ward K6 will merge with the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Ward S7B on the 5th floor of Meilahti Bridge Hospital.
The ward’s new name is Head and Neck Surgery Ward S5B. Oral and maxillofacial surgery begins operating in the new premises on February 3.
